WHERE'S MY BAG: HANOI, VIETNAM
The “Where’s My Bag?” series highlights Clark & Mayfield bags in interesting locations around the world. This is a guest post by Michelle C. of IntentionalTravelers.com. Michelle and her husband are "digital nomads," running their business online as they travel. As a proud owner of our Morrison laptop bag, Michelle will be sharing about some of the destinations she's visited with this Clark & Mayfield bag in tow.
In March, my husband and I went to Southeast Asia for the first time. There, we got an introduction to Vietnamese coffee culture in Hanoi, which is why I chose to share a photo of my Morrison bag at one of the many coffee shops in the city.
Vietnam is not only a major producer of coffee, but cities like Hanoi are home to thousands of cafés of every shape and size. Most sell a pretty typical cup of joe (adding sweetened condensed milk is common) but some have come up with more unique coffee concoctions. Thankfully, for people like us who work from our laptops, a number of the coffee shops have decent wifi and can be very affordable, allowing us to work and explore new places at the same time.
Why We Went
The purpose of our trip to Vietnam was to visit some friends who have moved to Hanoi. They hosted us in their home for two and a half weeks, which gave us ample opportunity to slowly explore the city. We discovered a number of amazing coffee shops, like the one pictured above called Home Coffee Store, and we sampled different drinks like coconut ice cream with coffee, yogurt and coffee, and egg coffee! More than racing around to see lots of tourist attractions, it's unique cultural experiences like these that fuel our passion for travel.
If you're interested in seeing more of the cool coffee shops and crazy coffee concoctions, we chronicled all these discoveries of Vietnam and more on our blog.
