Fun Places to Go With Kids in Europe

Visiting major cultural centers like London, Rome and Paris with its many museums and attractions can easily wear out little ones. Certain things can hold their attention for awhile, but they can quickly become bored.
So how can families enjoy all that these cities have to offer when little ones are in tow?
Easy. Mix in some parks and playgrounds and the result is some very happy kids.
London
London is a family friendly city with many things for kids to enjoy. Hyde Park is one of the best choices. The park is set near the center of London and is easily accessible by public transportation and is in close proximity to other major attractions. There are numerous activities that are available within the park.
Boating is one such activity that is offered in the park. There are row boats, pedal boats and solar shuttles available for rent. The South Carriage Drive Playground is great for young ones to play on and includes a variety of play activities for kids to enjoy. This playground is good for kids up to the age of 12 to play on and enjoy.
Hyde Park contains another playground and it provides a bit of a unique experience. This is the Diana Memorial Playground. It is home to a massive wooden pirate ship which is open for kids to play on and let their imagination run wild. There are also teepees and a sand beach for kids to play on. A trip to Hyde Park doesn’t have to be all about the kids, but even they will enjoy Kensington Palace and its gardens which merge with Hyde Park.
Rome
Borghese Gardens is a great place to visit with families. There are enough things to do and the park is large enough that an entire day can be spent in this beautiful park.
One of the more popular things to do is to hire a bike for a ride through the park. There are several options for bike rental. Traditional bicycles are available for rent. This makes it easier to cover the vast grounds of this beautiful park. There are also bikes that can accommodate up to four riders which are perfect for families. This works well for families with smaller children as they can simply go for a ride.
One of the top attractions within the park is the zoo. It is home to some 1,000 animals and 200 species and is popular pick for families.
Another family friendly activity the park provides are row boat rides on the small lake in the park.
The park offers more than just nature and activities for kids. The renowned Villa Borghese Gallery is also on the premises and houses priceless works of art by famed sculptor Bernini. It’s a popular attraction, so it’s a good idea to purchase tickets ahead of time. The beauty of the park is that there’s art displayed throughout the park and not limited to the museum.
Paris
Jardins des Tuileries is a well manicured beautiful park that borders the world famous Louvre museum. It’s perhaps most famous for his rows of perfectly trimmed trees. It’s a wonderful space to take a walk and wander with the family. The real treat for families is the playground that calls this park home. There are several play areas within the playground that will keep kids happy and content. There are areas to climb and slide and bounce and have fun. The playground has things for toddlers and bigger kids alike.
There is also a carousel to ride which is conveniently situated next a cotton candy stand. It’ll be hard to say no either one.
All ages will enjoy the beauty of this park. Walk between the beautiful rows of trees or down the main walkway that bisects the park. On the main walkway to the east end you get a stunning view of the Louvre. Towards the west end of the park you come up against Place de la Concorde and from there you get a view of the Eiffel Tower.
